First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. When possible, we will send you this paperwork in advance so that you can complete it in the comfort of your own home prior to your visit.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health related goals, problems, and concerns, as well as potential care options/solutions.

History and Examination

If you come to our office with a specific health concern, our goal is to determine its root cause. In order to do so, our doctors will ask you various questions related to your concern. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues and body systems are affected as well as the extent of their involvement.

X-rays

Occasionally, your specific concern/s may require us to order x-rays or other imaging tests (which are typically performed at Logan College of Chiropractic's Health Center or a facility of your choice) to either rule out more serious conditions or to assist us in developing the most effective care plan for you.

Same Day Treatment

In most cases, we do not adjust on the first visit.

There are many reasons for this policy, but the most importantly, we believe it is crucial for our doctors to provide a complete examination, and have adequate time to review all findings before a patient begins care.

THIS IS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST AND HELPS ENSURE THAT THE CARE PLAN PROVIDED IS ONE THAT IS INDIVIDUALIZED TO YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS AND PREFERENCES.

On rare occasions, based on patient need and what our doctors deem as clinically appropriate, patients will be adjusted on their first visit to our office. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

After their initial consultation, patients may be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your report of findings and first adjustment. Generally speaking, patients are seen for their second visit within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of the doctors' recommendations for care at that time.
